H.E Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of Kazakhstan called on Mr. Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chairman CDA, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and DG Civil defence at the CDA Headquarter. During the meeting, Member Administration, Member Estate and other senior officers of CDA attended the meeting. The meeting held in a very cordial and friendly atmosphere in which matters of mutual interest especially to explore avenues for enhancing development, progress and beautification of Islamabad.

H.E Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of Kazakhstan, appreciated CDA’s excellent initiatives in maintaining Islamabad’s development, progress and beauty and expressed his commitment to deepening economic, tourism, beautification and trade ties with the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

H.E Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador Kazakhstan of suggested to name a Road in Astana, Capital of Kazakhstan after Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the father of Pakistani nation and to name a Road after Kazakhstan’s national poet, Mr. Abai Qunanbauly in Islamabad. It was discussed that the unveiling ceremony of the street would talk place during the upcoming visit of president of Kazakhstan this year.

During the meeting, Mr. Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chairman CDA, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and DG Civil defence said that Islamabad and Astana have a sister city relationship and a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed in Islamabad in 2004. During the meeting, discussions were held on partnership opportunities and potential with the CDA for key projects, including establishment of the state-of-the-art slaughterhouse in Islamabad, Business Facilitation Center in Islamabad which would provide business-related services under one roof. Additionally, the meeting also discussed the construction of a modern football stadium equipped with advanced facilities to promote healthy activities in Islamabad. Furthermore, the meeting also touched upon the industrial exhibition scheduled to take place in Islamabad in October this year. H.E Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador Kazakhstan assured his fullest support to CDA in all its projects and it was agreed to have a focal person from two sides to have close coordination between CDA and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Islamabad.

Mr. Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chairman CDA said that Pakistan give value to its brotherly country Kazakhstan. He highlighted CDA’s efforts for making Islamabad more beautiful, developed especially efforts for promotion of tourism in Islamabad thus rejuvenating parks, introductions of food streets, environment friendly electric buses, cable car project, theme and adventure park in Islamabad. He emphasized the need to explore more areas of mutual interest and also underscored the importance of business collaboration and cultural ties.

On this occasion, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to fostering closer relations and cooperation between CDA, Pakistan and Astana, Kazakhstan. Mr. Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chairman CDA, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and DG Civil Defence was invited by H.E Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador to Astana for having biletral meetings with Astana’s counterpart and other stakeholders for exploring new avenues for mutual cooperation in future.

At the end, Mr. Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chairman CDA, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and DG Civil Defence presented souvenir to H.E Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of Kazakhstan at CDA Headquarters.
