Chairman CDA, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and DG Civil Defense Muhammad Ali Randhawa along with Federal Interior Secretary Muhammad Khurram Agha, Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed and the relevant officers visited CDA Nursery on Park Road. A detailed briefing was given on the ongoing construction work under the project to upgrade and transform the CDA Nursery into “Gardenia Hub.”

During the briefing, Chairman CDA was briefed that the architects and horticulture experts from Baku are providing specialized support to convert the CDA Model Nursery into “Gardenia Hub.” It was further shared that the facility will include flower shops as well as a training and research center.
Chairman CDA stated that all employees working at the CDA Model Nursery will receive special training for its maintenance and protection so they can perform their duties more efficiently and diligently.
On this occasion, Chairman HEC assured full support from HEC to develop the CDA Model Nursery as a state-of-the-art facility meeting international standards. He appreciated the developmental work and the vision behind transforming it into “Gardenia Hub” under the leadership of the Chairman CDA. He expressed hope that the upgraded nursery would help meet the horticultural needs of Islamabad’s residents in the future. Chairman CDA emphasized the use of cutting-edge technology and exploring accreditation opportunities with international educational institutions.

Chairman CDA highlighted that the primary objective of upgrading the nursery is to establish Islamabad as a key hub in the horticulture sector. He directed the swift completion of modern and aesthetically designed flower shops, which will not only enhance the city’s beauty but also serve as an attractive recreational spot for citizens.
During the briefing, it was shared that unique, controlled-ventilation greenhouses are being constructed in the nursery, providing an ideal environment for plant growth while supporting research and development. Additionally, a tissue culture center will be established to propagate new plant varieties using advanced techniques.

Chairman CDA emphasized dedicating a special exhibition space for colorful seasonal and non-seasonal flowers to showcase them to the public. He stated that the comprehensive design of the project reflects CDA’s commitment to enhancing green spaces in Islamabad and promoting environmental sustainability.
Transforming the nursery into “Gardenia Hub” is a significant step toward making Islamabad a more beautiful and lush capital, he said. Chairman CDA directed the utilization of all available resources to convert the CDA Model Nursery into a world-class facility. He noted that this project will not only beautify the city but also create new employment opportunities in the horticulture sector.
Chairman CDA reiterated that the “Gardenia Hub” initiative is a crucial part of CDA’s efforts to provide citizens with a clean and green environment. He reaffirmed CDA’s commitment to making Islamabad a modern, beautiful and eco-friendly model city, stating that the completion of this project will further enhance the city’s charm.
