A meeting was held at the CDA Headquarters under the chairmanship of Chairman CDA, Chief Commissioner of Islamabad and Director General of Civil Defense, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting was attended by CDA Member Administration, Member Estate, Member Engineering, Member Finance, Member Planning, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and other senior CDA officers.
The meeting reviewed the progress made so far on sector development, particularly in Sectors E-12, C-14, C-15, C-16, and I-12 as well as the projects on Shaheen Chowk and Kashmir Chowk, remodeling of the Faizabad Interchange, the conversion of the CDA Nursery into ‘Gardenia Hub,’ the Blue Area Parking Plaza, the construction of the Police Academy and the development of parking facilities for employees of the Pak Secretariat.
Chairman CDA stated that improving residential facilities for the citizens of Islamabad is CDA’s top priority. He said that while the CDA is making full efforts for the development and prosperity of various sectors, it is also planting environment friendly trees across the city, upgrading all major roads and constructing underpasses at various locations to resolve traffic issues and provide better travel facilities to citizens. He added that the CDA is not only taking practical steps to improve all parks and playgrounds but is also actively working on their uplift. He directed that permanent beautiful lights be gradually installed on all major roads in Islamabad.
In line with the direction of Chairman CDA, a special committee has been constituted, comprising members from Engineering, Environment, Road Marketing, Finance, Sanitation, Building Control, Estate Management, Enforcement, MPO, MCI’s DMA Wing, Islamabad Administration, and Police, along with representatives from other formations. This committee will visit five major Roads of Islamabad, assess their upgradation, gradual replacement of lights, improved landscaping, horticulture work, and other development projects and ensure their timely completion.
During the briefing, it was informed that the remaining construction work of the Blue Area Parking Plaza along with the installation of lifts, has been completed, while the lighting and other tasks will be finalized soon. Chairman CDA directed that all construction work, including electrical, mechanical, and fire extinguisher installations, be completed promptly. He further instructed that the Blue Area Parking Plaza be made fully operational within one month.
