High-Profile Islamabad Murder: Strategic Policy Specialist Faheem Sardar Brutally Killed, Investigation Underway

Islamabad (Special Correspondent)

A high-profile and mysterious murder has shaken the federal capital, as renowned economist and senior policy specialist Faheem Sardar was found brutally murdered in his residence in the G-6/3 area under the jurisdiction of Aabpara Police Station. Sardar, who served in the Strategic Planning Cell of Pakistan’s National Security Division, was discovered bound and severely injured, lying unconscious in a pool of blood in his bedroom.

According to sources, Inspector General of Islamabad Police has ordered the formation of a three-member investigation team, including SSP Operations and SP Investigation, while Sub-Inspector Muhammad Ali has been assigned the lead role in probing the case. Despite four days passing since the incident, police have yet to identify or apprehend the culprits.

Eyewitness and complainant Zakir Habib Khan, a resident of F-8 and uncle of the deceased, filed the FIR. He stated that around 12:30 p.m., he was informed by his niece Erum Nadeem that Faheem was found unconscious and severely injured at his home. Upon arriving at the scene with acquaintances Gulbahar Abbasi and Malik Abrar, they found Faheem tied with ropes and covered in blood. He was declared dead shortly thereafter.

Initial forensic analysis confirms multiple sharp weapon injuries on Faheem’s body, with a fatal head wound cited as the cause of death. The post-mortem examination has been completed at the Polyclinic Hospital. Authorities collected significant forensic evidence from the victim’s bedroom but have not yet revealed whether any valuables were stolen or if the family was present during the incident.

Faheem Sardar was a respected figure in the fields of economics, policy, and national security, and had represented Pakistan at numerous national and international platforms. He was also affiliated with the think tank and advisory firm “TANGENT.” The gruesome nature of the crime, particularly in a supposedly secure area of Islamabad, has raised serious concerns regarding public safety and the efficacy of law enforcement agencies.

When contacted, SP City Khalid Mehmood Awan declined to comment, stating he was busy with the ongoing investigation. The police have so far maintained silence regarding the possible motive behind the murder and have only confirmed that the investigation is in its early stages.

The brutal killing of such a prominent and well-connected individual has triggered widespread fear and outrage among the public, with many questioning the safety of ordinary citizens if someone of Faheem Sardar’s stature can be targeted so mercilessly.

The investigation continues, but as of yet, no arrests have been made.
