The first meeting of the Sub-Committee of the Standing Committee on Housing and Works of the National Assembly was held today, Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Committee Room of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), G-10/4, Islamabad.
The meeting was attended by the following Honourable Members of the National Assembly, who were warmly received by the Honourable Director General of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority, Captain (R) Zafar Iqbal. Senior officials of FGEHA were also present on the occasion.

The following agenda items were discussed during the meeting:
“Review and resolution of issues related to land acquisition, compensation for constructed properties, and delays in the completion of projects of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA).”
During the meeting, the Honourable Members of the National Assembly emphasized the importance of collaboration and partnership and highlighted the significance of addressing the housing needs of Pakistan’s growing population as a cornerstone of national development. The Committee members attentively considered the proposals presented and shared their valuable insights for future planning.
On this occasion, the Director General of FGEHA expressed his gratitude to the Honourable Members and assured that effective and prioritized measures are being taken to resolve issues related to land acquisition, compensation, and delays in project completion.
He affirmed that under the Prime Minister’s vision, FGEHA remains committed to providing improved facilities and opportunities to the citizens through its Joint Venture (JV) partnerships, keeping public interest at the forefront. He emphasized that the Housing Authority cannot afford any delays in residential projects, as its core objective is to ensure timely provision of housing to government employees and other eligible groups.
The Director General further stated that FGEHA’s expansive projects will not only provide residential and commercial facilities to the public but also significantly benefit over forty allied industries in the construction sector. Therefore, these projects are of vital importance not only in fulfilling the need for housing but also in contributing effectively to national economic growth
