Federal Minister Junaid Anwar Chaudhry Secures Two Additional Flights to Gwadar Thanks to the efforts of Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, two additional Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights to Gwadar from Karachi have been reinstated. The new flights are scheduled to commence in the first week of August, marking a significant boost in air connectivity to the strategic port city.
Speaking on the development, Minister Chaudhry stated that expanding air links is essential for promoting commercial activity in the region.
“Previously, only one flight was operating to Gwadar. The addition of new flights is a crucial step forward and reflects the Prime Minister’s pro-business vision in action,” he said.
The minister emphasized that improved air access plays a vital role in activating Gwadar’s free zones. Enhanced air travel facilities are expected to open up new opportunities for investment and trade, fostering economic growth in the region.
He further noted that facilitating the business community, port staff, and the logistics sector remains a key priority of the government.
“Reliable air connectivity is critical for the timely execution of CPEC projects. These added flights mark the beginning of a new chapter in Gwadar’s economic development,” the minister added.
The move has been welcomed by stakeholders in the business and logistics sectors, who have long advocated for improved transportation links to support Gwadar’s growing role as a trade and investment hub.
