Lahore to Host Hearing on University Town Rawalpindi Appeal Against DG RDA’s Order on August 8

The Government of Punjab’s Housing, Urban Development & Public Health Engineering (HUD&PHE) Department has scheduled a hearing on the appeal filed by the affectees of University Town Rawalpindi against an order issued by the Director General, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), dated June 30, 2025.

According to the official notification, the hearing will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 10:30 AM under the chairmanship of the Secretary, HUD&PHE Department, in his office located at 2-Lake Road, Lahore.

A formal notice has been issued to the affected parties, including Mr. Ashiq Hussain and others, through their legal representative, Advocate Ch. Sarfraz Ahmed Chadhar. The notice directs all relevant parties—including the DG RDA Rawalpindi and University Town (Pvt.) Ltd.—to appear at the hearing with all pertinent records and documentation.

The notice explicitly instructs the management of University Town to ensure their presence at the scheduled hearing and to bring all documentary evidence necessary for the proceedings.

This move follows an appeal filed by the affected citizens seeking redress against the DG RDA’s decision. It is seen as a significant development, offering a renewed sense of hope for justice among the complainants.

The notice, signed by the Section Officer (H-III) of the HUD&PHE Department, was officially issued on July 31, 2025.
