Meeting of the Sub-Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Housing and Works Held at FGEHA.
A meeting of the Sub-Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Housing and Works was held on August 4, 2025, at the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), Sector G-10/4, Islamabad. The meeting was chaired by the Convener of the Sub-Committee, Mr. Anjum Aqeel Khan (Member National Assembly), while Honorable Members of the National Assembly, Mr. Mehboob Shah and Mr. Abrar Ahmed, attended as committee members. Mr. Adnan Diyar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Works, was also present.
FGEHA was represented by the Chief Engineer, while other senior officers of the Housing Authority, including Director Land Mr. Ehsan Elahi, Director Finance, Director Coordination Mr. Shahid, Director Legal Mr. Basit Khan, and Director Admin Mr. Faiz Umar Sial, also attended the meeting.
The committee discussed issues related to Sector G-14 (Jhangi Syedan), with particular focus on matters concerning Google and non-Google Built-Up Properties (BUPs). Grievances of the affectees were heard, and the committee emphasized that the concerns of the affectees must be resolved on a priority basis.
The Director Land expressed concern over cases where payments had already been made to some affectees, yet the properties had not been vacated. The committee stressed the need for immediate resolution of this matter and assured its full cooperation.
A special committee has been constituted to address matters related to Sectors F-14 and F-15, comprising the Director Land and Director Legal. This committee has been instructed to submit a report within seven days, outlining practical recommendations for resolving the issues.
Furthermore, the next two meetings of the Sub-Committee are scheduled to be held on August 8 and August 12, 2025, at the FGEHA office. These meetings will aim to conduct a detailed review of land acquisition, pending payments, compensation for constructed properties, delays in FGEHA’s housing projects, and other critical matters.
