Rawalpindi (Special Correspondent):
A major controversy has erupted after the Crime Control Department (CCD) conducted a raid at the residence of PML-N MPA Chaudhry Naeem Ejaz, who also owns the prominent housing project Blue World City. The raid, allegedly led by SP CCD Benish Fatima and SHO Mohsin Shah, resulted in the seizure of Rs. 500 million in cash and the detention of three employees. The incident took place on August 7 at 7:55 AM.
According to a formal complaint filed by Chaudhry Naeem Ejaz with the local police, over 20 plain-clothed armed personnel, including an Elite Force officer, forcefully entered his private residence and farmhouse. He alleges that they broke into bedrooms, smashed lockers, and confiscated large amounts of cash without presenting any legal documentation or warrants. Naeem further claimed that his elderly mother (aged 70), women, and children were harassed and terrorized, while household staff were beaten and violently restrained.
The MPA accused SP Benish Fatima of orchestrating the raid due to a personal and political vendetta dating back to her tenure as ASP in the PTI government. He maintains that the raid was politically motivated, aimed at damaging his public image and reputation. According to Naeem, CCTV footage of the entire episode is available, and he is demanding legal action against the involved officers, including SP Fatima and SHO Mohsin.
In contrast, CCD sources stated that the raid was part of a grand operation to dismantle safe havens for criminals in Rawalpindi Division. Days prior, CCD had arrested around 16 armed individuals from within Blue World City — allegedly involved in criminal activities. During the most recent raid on a dera (outpost) in Chontra, CCD claimed to have rescued a man from DG Khan who was forcibly held, tortured, and burnt with cigarettes — with video evidence. The victim alleged that dangerous criminals from various provinces were hiding at the premises.
Meanwhile, Col (R) Rafiqat Mehmood, Deputy Director of Security at Blue World City, defended the housing society. He stated that Blue World City has signed MoUs with three government-approved security firms and that all personnel requested by CCD had already been handed over by their respective companies. He questioned why, despite full cooperation, the CCD chose to raid a public representative’s home instead of directly engaging the security companies.
Chaudhry Naeem has called for the registration of an FIR against SP Benish Fatima and others involved, claiming the operation was unlawful and deliberately targeted to defame him and the housing society.
The Rawalpindi police have confirmed they’ve initiated an investigation, but no FIR has been registered yet by CCD against the MPA. The situation continues to evolve as both sides present conflicting narratives — one citing national security concerns and the other alleging political persecution and abuse of power.
