An important meeting was held at the CDA Headquarters under the chairmanship of Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting focused on reviewing the performance of the Planning Wing of the CDA.
Senior CDA officials attended the session, including Member Planning Dr. Khalid Hafeez, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Environment Asfandyar Baloch, DG Planning Dr. Zafar Iqbal, DG Building Control & Housing Faisal Naeem, DG Islamabad Water Sardar Khan Zamri, DG Resources Shakeel Ahmad, DG Special Projects Arshad Chauhan, and other senior officers.
During the meeting, it was informed that the Planning Wing has introduced modern Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and a digital approval system. These advancements support proper city planning, layout and map approvals, urban renewal project designs, and environmentally conscious initiatives.
Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa stated that the unique identity, strategic planning, and natural beauty of Islamabad must be preserved while achieving development goals. He emphasized the critical role of the Planning Wing in managing urban infrastructure, traffic management, residential and commercial projects, and maintaining environmental balance.
He highlighted the importance of integrated planning based on modern technology, digital mapping, and international standards, to transform Islamabad into a developed, eco-friendly, and model city.
The Chairman also appreciated the efforts of the Planning Wing in aligning Islamabad with modern building codes and improving residential and commercial zoning systems. He reiterated that transparency, sustainability, and swift implementation in accordance with the law are among CDA’s top priorities.
Muhammad Ali Randhawa instructed that planning and development processes should prioritize expertise, merit, and transparency, while adhering to both national and international standards of sustainability. He also directed that revenue generation be enhanced and all development projects be completed on time.
