Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi issued a significant message on the occasion of National Minorities Day, reaffirming the government’s commitment to equality, respect, and protection for all citizens, regardless of their religion or background.
In his message, the Minister recalled the historic speech of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on August 11, 1947, in which he assured all citizens of Pakistan — regardless of their faith — of religious freedom, equality, and security. Abbasi emphasized that minorities, including Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Parsis, and the Kalash community, have played an unforgettable role in the development of Pakistan.
He stated that every citizen in Pakistan enjoys equal rights and full protection under the Constitution. Interfaith harmony, he said, is essential for national unity and social cohesion.
The Minister also highlighted the government’s initiatives to provide equal employment and development opportunities to youth from minority communities. “The true strength of Pakistan lies in its diversity and the mutual love among its people,” he said. “National Minorities Day is a reminder of the spirit of our Constitution and the vision of Quaid-e-Azam.”
Hanif Abbasi noted that Pakistan Railways is an example of inclusivity, where minority employees are valued and respected equally. “Minority employees of Pakistan Railways are a proud chapter in the nation’s service,” he said. “Railways not only shorten distances between places but also bring hearts closer.”
He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to training, uplifting, and welfare programs for minority employees, adding that progress must be inclusive and above religious distinctions.
“Unity in diversity is Pakistan’s true strength,” the Minister concluded, vowing to continue turning Quaid-e-Azam’s vision into reality by building a just, inclusive, and progressive Pakistan for all.
