A high-level meeting was held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters under the chairmanship of Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, to review ongoing development projects, environmental improvement plans, and strategies to enhance public facilities in the federal capital.
The meeting was attended by key CDA officials, including Member Administration & Estate Talat Mahmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Engineering Syed Naffasat Raza, Member Planning Dr. Khalid Hafeez, and Member Environment Asfandyar Baloch.

Chairman Randhawa emphasized the timely completion of all development projects to ensure Islamabad’s continuous growth, enhanced beauty, and provision of high-quality residential, recreational, and tourism-related amenities for its residents.
The meeting also focused on beautification initiatives, including expanding green areas and implementing landscaping at prominent city locations. One of the key projects under discussion was the transformation of the CDA Nursery into a “Gardina Hub” – a proposed recreational and botanical space that will not only enrich Islamabad’s green landscape but also offer citizens a place to purchase plants and flowers.
Discussions were also held on a comprehensive strategy to improve the water supply system in the city. The plan includes the restoration of water supply lines and measures to protect underground water reserves, aiming to provide residents with more reliable and sustainable access to clean water.
Environmental protection was another key agenda item. The CDA has decided to prioritize eco-friendly tree plantation campaigns, particularly in parks and areas where proper maintenance and care of trees can be ensured. The chairman noted that this year’s plantation drive will focus on ensuring long-term survival and care of newly planted trees.
Addressing urban planning issues, the meeting resolved to intensify operations against illegal housing societies and unauthorized constructions. Chairman Randhawa stressed that no leniency will be shown to violators, and all illegal encroachments and constructions will be removed as part of a sustained crackdown.
To ensure effective implementation, Chairman CDA instructed strict monitoring of all ongoing projects, with a clear focus on meeting deadlines. He also appealed to citizens to cooperate with CDA in making Islamabad a clean, green, and well-developed city.
