A dance party in Islamabad’s E-11/2 area turned into a scene of chaos and violence when a police raid was met with armed resistance, resulting in police officers being taken hostage, assaulted, and robbed. The Shalimar Police have registered a case under charges of robbery, terrorism, and other serious offences, and have arrested three suspects, including the alleged ringleader.

According to the FIR filed by ASI Khushhaal Ahmed, a call was received via the Safe City system reporting loud noises and possible disturbance from Apartment No. 402 in E-11/2. Upon reaching the location with fellow constables, the police encountered 15 to 20 armed young men firing weapons and creating unrest.

The situation escalated quickly when Asim Jahangir, son of Jahangir Khan – a notorious individual with a criminal record – allegedly instructed the crowd to “teach the police officers a lesson” for entering their flat.

The assailants reportedly grabbed ASI Khushhaal and a constable, held them hostage, and physically assaulted them using gun butts, leaving them severely injured. The attackers snatched a wireless set, mobile phone, official documents, and Rs. 7,500 in cash from the ASI, while Rs. 2,500 was looted from the constable. During the ordeal, the suspects also issued death threats, warning the officers not to move or they would be shot.

The gunfire and rowdy behavior of the suspects caused panic in the area. Shalimar Police later conducted a full operation and arrested three individuals, including Asim Jahangir. According to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Shalimar Police Station, the suspects are currently in police remand and further investigations are underway. Weapons used in the incident have also been recovered.

Sources have also claimed that illegal parties involving alcohol and other illicit activities frequently take place in the E-11 and F-10 areas of Islamabad, allegedly under police protection. Moreover, a liquor-selling mafia is said to be operating openly in these neighborhoods, with alleged support from some elements within law enforcement.

Nevertheless, in this case, Shalimar Police have acted swiftly and have detained the three main suspects involved in the hostage-taking and assault incident.
