Heavy Rainfall Expected in Karachi and Hyderabad from August 24 to 28; Authorities Issue Safety Warnings

A severe weather system is expected to bring heavy rainfall across Sindh province from August 24 to 28, with particularly intense showers predicted in Karachi and Hyderabad. Officials have warned of heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning, with Hyderabad likely to experience intense downpours within the next 1 to 2 hours, raising concerns of potential flooding in the area.

According to a spokesperson, Karachi is also expected to see heavy rainfall in the next 60 to 90 minutes. Citizens have been alerted about possible power outages and flooding risks due to the adverse weather conditions.

Authorities have urged residents to avoid traveling on waterlogged roads and to stay away from electric poles to prevent accidents. They also advised people to keep their electrical appliances in safe places and use them cautiously during the storm.

The local administration has called on citizens to inspect and clear drainage systems in and around their homes to prevent water accumulation and reduce flood risk. Residents living in low-lying areas have been advised to prepare emergency kits containing essentials such as drinking water, food, flashlights, and first aid supplies.

Officials emphasized the importance of following local government instructions and urged people to take precautionary measures seriously. Meteorologists have also advised minimizing outdoor activities during the heavy rainfall period to avoid potential harm.
