On the special directives of Prime Minister of Pakistan, the country continues its humanitarian support for Palestinians in Gaza. In the latest effort, the 19th consignment of relief goods, weighing 100 tons, was dispatched from Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, to Gaza via a chartered flight on Saturday. The initiative is a joint effort by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Alkhidmat Foundation.
A solemn departure ceremony was held at the airport to mark the occasion. Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan attended the event as the chief guest, along with representatives from NDMA and Alkhidmat Foundation.
Addressing the gathering, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Palestine during these challenging times. He commended the effective coordination and logistical efforts by NDMA and praised Alkhidmat Foundation’s commitment to humanitarian service.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s assistance is not merely aid but a reflection of Islamic solidarity. “Helping the people of Gaza is in line with Pakistan’s principled stance on the Palestinian cause,” he added. He expressed hope that the relief consignment would safely reach its destination in Gaza via Al-Arish, Egypt, without delay.
Alkhidmat Foundation President Professor Hafeez ur Rehman shared that Pakistan has so far sent a total of 1,915 tons of relief goods to Gaza. The aid includes essential items such as flour bags, cooking oil, jams, canned fruits, food packs, ready-to-eat meals, beverages, and other necessities.
He reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to continuing these relief efforts for the people of Gaza in the future, emphasizing that such humanitarian missions will persist as long as needed.
