Railways Minister Orders 24/7 Monitoring of Train Operations Amid Ongoing Flood Situation

Federal Minister for Railways, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, has directed Pakistan Railways to ensure round-the-clock monitoring of trains and railway tracks in light of the ongoing flood situation across the country. He emphasized that passenger safety and comfort must remain a top priority.

Chairing a meeting on Saturday, the minister reviewed the operational performance and safety protocols of Pakistan Railways. Railway officials briefed the minister on the impact of floods on railway infrastructure and the measures being taken to maintain uninterrupted services.

Minister Abbasi stressed the importance of proactive steps to prevent accidents and called for strict adherence to train schedules. He also directed authorities to maintain cleanliness standards across trains and stations.

Highlighting the need for improved public service, he instructed that basic amenities at railway stations, including waiting areas, be ensured for passengers, treating these as essential public services.
