In a significant display of regional diplomacy and strategic alliances, the 80th anniversary of China’s victory in World War II was marked by a grand military parade that brought together some of Asia’s most influential leaders.
Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made a joint entrance at the parade venue — a moment that drew global attention and signaled a powerful message of unity among the three nations.
The presence of these key leaders at the commemorative event not only reflected their growing mutual cooperation but also underscored Pakistan’s rising diplomatic stature in the region. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s participation alongside Xi and Putin highlights Islamabad’s strengthening ties with both Beijing and Moscow.
Notably, the Indian Prime Minister was not invited to the ceremony — a move widely interpreted as a reflection of the current geopolitical tensions and shifting alliances in South Asia.
The parade, commemorating China’s role and sacrifices in World War II, served as a platform for China to reaffirm its global and regional influence, while also allowing its key allies to showcase solidarity on the world stage.
