ISLAMABAD STAFF REPORTER
Under the directive of Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, an e-balloting ceremony was held on Thursday at the CDA Headquarters to select Christian employees of the authority who will be sent to Vatican City to perform their religious duties. This initiative is part of an agreement between the CDA Workers Union (CBA) and CDA administration to support the religious obligations of Christian staff members.

The event was attended by CDA Member Finance Tahir Naeem Akhtar, Member Engineering Syed Nifaat Raza, CDA Workers Union General Secretary Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen, other officials, and a large number of Christian employees working at the authority.
During the ceremony, five fortunate Christian employees were selected through e-balloting to undertake the religious pilgrimage to Vatican City this year. CDA officials extended their congratulations to all Christian employees and expressed best wishes to the selected individuals.
In their speeches, CDA Member Finance Tahir Naeem Akhtar and Member Engineering Syed Nifaat Raza praised the valuable contributions of Christian employees towards the beautification, cleanliness, and development of the city. They described the day as a blessed occasion for all Christian staff and expressed hope that the selected employees, while performing their religious duties in Vatican City, would also pray for the progress of the CDA, the development of Islamabad, and the prosperity of Pakistan.
CDA Workers Union General Secretary Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen thanked Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa and all board members for facilitating the successful e-balloting process. He emphasized that the CDA Workers Union works beyond the boundaries of religion, race, and ethnicity to promote the welfare of all employees. Yaseen highlighted that just as efforts were made to enable Muslim employees to perform Hajj, similar steps have been taken for Christian employees by providing them with religious festival bonuses and now the approval to visit Vatican City. He further stated that the union has also ensured increases in allowances and other welfare measures for Christian staff, reflecting a shining example of interfaith harmony.
