ISLAMABAD by IMTISAL BUKHARI

A departmental “Orderly Room” session was held under the chairmanship of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director General Riffat Mukhtar Raja, during which disciplinary proceedings were conducted against officials involved in poor investigations and violations of departmental discipline.

According to sources, during the hearing, four sub-inspectors and one Lower Division Clerk (LDC) were dismissed from service due to negligence and substandard investigation practices. The dismissed personnel were posted in Islamabad, Faisalabad, and Lahore zones.

DG FIA Riffat Mukhtar Raja emphasized that there is no place in the agency for those involved in negligence, carelessness, or flawed investigative work. He stressed that strict disciplinary action will be ensured against all officials involved in corruption, misconduct, or dereliction of duty.

He further stated that the purpose of internal accountability is to rid the FIA of the ‘black sheep’ involved in irregularities and corrupt practices. DG FIA added that stringent measures are being taken against officials found engaged in illegal activities.

He warned that any officer found guilty of negligence will face strict punishment to uphold the integrity and transparency of the institution. Riffat Mukhtar Raja reiterated that only through a transparent and robust accountability process can crimes like human smuggling and corruption be effectively eradicated.
