Power Division Issues Report on Electricity Restoration in Flood-Affected Areas

The Power Division has released a detailed report on the restoration of electricity in flood-affected regions of the country as of September 4. According to the report, out of a total of 1,623,413 affected consumers, electricity supply has been restored to 1,307,559 consumers, while restoration for the remaining 315,854 consumers is being carried out on a priority basis.

PESCO Region

In areas under PESCO — including Swat, Bannu, Shangla, Swabi, and D.I. Khan — a total of 12 grid stations and 91 feeders were affected. Out of these, 85 feeders have been fully restored and 6 partially. Out of 463,375 affected consumers, 459,921 now have electricity, and the remaining 3,454 consumers are expected to be fully reconnected between September 4 and 12. Restoration in Swabi and D.I. Khan has been fully completed.

GEPCO Region

In GEPCO areas, 11 grid stations and 103 feeders were affected. 88 feeders are fully operational, while 16 are partially restored. Out of 735,987 affected consumers, 660,509 now have electricity. Restoration for the remaining 75,478 consumers will begin once floodwaters recede.

LESCO Region

In LESCO’s jurisdiction, covering Lahore, Okara, Sheikhupura, Kasur, and Nankana Sahib, 67 feeders were impacted. Of these, 44 have been fully restored and 23 partially. 59,067 out of 73,634 affected consumers now have power, while work to restore the remaining 14,567 is expected to be completed between September 4 and 5.

FESCO Region

In FESCO areas, including Faisalabad, Chiniot, Jhang, Sargodha, Mianwali, and others, 26 grid stations and 77 feeders were affected. So far, 19 feeders have been fully restored, while 54 are temporarily operational. Out of 198,616 affected consumers, 93,331 now have power. Restoration for the remaining 105,285 consumers is targeted for September 4–5, depending on water levels.

MEPCO Region

In MEPCO’s jurisdiction, 139 feeders were affected, impacting 96,537 consumers. Restoration work will begin as soon as floodwaters recede in the affected areas.

TESCO Region

In North Waziristan and Khyber, 17 feeders were affected under TESCO. 2 feeders have been fully restored, and 11 are partially operational. Out of 31,599 affected consumers, 7,302 now have electricity, while restoration for the remaining 24,297 is expected to be completed by 5 PM on September 5.

HAZECO Region

In HAZECO’s jurisdiction, all 3 affected feeders in Mansehra have been fully restored.

National Overview

According to the Power Division, across the country, 49 grid stations and 497 feeders were affected by floods. Of these, 239 feeders have been fully restored, and 249 partially restored. Efforts are ongoing to fully restore electricity to all affected areas as quickly as possible, with teams working round the clock under emergency protocols.

The Power Division reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply and has prioritized the completion of restoration work in all flood-affected zones.
