CDA Chairman Approves Comprehensive Medical Insurance Plan, Telemedicine Services for Employees and Families

An important meeting was held on Wednesday at the CDA headquarters under the chairmanship of Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting was attended by CDA Board Member Admin and Estate Talat Mahmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, representative from State Life Insurance and other officers of CDA. The meeting included a detailed briefing on providing comprehensive medical insurance coverage alongside CDA Hospital to ensure the best medical facilities for CDA employees and their families.

During the briefing, it was briefed that CDA employees will have access to the best treatment facilities at top hospitals in Islamabad as panel facilities. Similarly, CDA employees will be provided with extensive coverage for emergencies, OPD, medicines and lab tests at both CDA Hospital and private hospitals.

The meeting was informed that health insurance coverage will be further enhanced in case of life-threatening diseases and complete medical facilities will be provided not only to CDA employees but also to all their family members. It was decided during the meeting that Capital Hospital would also be included in the panel of State Life Insurance, enabling employees of other organizations to benefit from its services.

Chairman CDA directed that the income generated from the empanelment of Capital Hospital should be spent on improving the hospital and enhancing medical facilities. He instructed that equal coverage and facilities for treatment should be provided to all employees and officers from Grade 1 to 21. On the Chairman’s CDA directives, it was decided to increase the OPD limit for CDA employees in hospitals.

Chairman CDA also directed the introduction of telemedicine and video consultation services. Furthermore, instructions were given to introduce telemedicine in Basic Health Units (BHU’s) in the future. He said that through telemedicine consultation, prompt and quality medical advice can be provided to patients in remote areas.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed that further concessions be obtained from the best hospitals in Islamabad under the medical health insurance plan. He added that these measures will enable CDA employees to access maximum quality medical facilities free of cost.
