On September 9 and 10, Pakistan’s security forces conducted three separate intelligence-based operations in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eliminating 19 militants affiliated with the Indian-backed proxy group Fitna al-Khawarij, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The largest operation took place in the Ghulonai area of Mohmand District, where security forces, acting on credible intelligence, targeted a terrorist hideout. Following a heavy exchange of fire, 14 militants linked to the Indian-sponsored group were killed.
A similar intelligence-based operation was conducted in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan, where four more militants were neutralized during a gunbattle with security personnel.
In a separate engagement in Bannu District, one terrorist was eliminated by security forces. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from all three operation sites.
According to ISPR, the eliminated terrorists were involved in multiple acts of terrorism in the region. Clearance and search operations are currently underway to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining elements of the group.
The ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute in their mission to root out the menace of terrorism, particularly that which is being supported and fueled from across the border.
