Foreign Diplomats Visit NDMA’s National Emergency Operations Centre, Receive Briefing on Flood Response Efforts

Representatives from over 30 countries, including ambassadors from Türkiye, Australia, Russia, Germany, Japan, Canada, South Africa, Poland, and Ireland, visited the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in Islamabad. The visit aimed to provide diplomats with a detailed briefing on the ongoing flood situation in Pakistan and the emergency relief efforts underway.

According to the NDMA spokesperson, Chairman NDMA, Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, briefed the visiting dignitaries on the rescue and relief operations being carried out in the flood-affected regions. He emphasized that NDMA, in collaboration with provincial and regional institutions, is actively implementing a coordinated and strategic response to manage the crisis.

The briefing also covered NDMA’s preparedness measures for disaster response, weather pattern analysis, and the use of modern technology in forecasting and operations. Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also participated in the session, while Pakistani ambassadors stationed in various countries joined the event via video link.

The foreign diplomats appreciated NDMA’s timely and effective response to the floods, acknowledging the authority’s critical role in protecting lives and supporting the national economy during natural disasters.
