Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has paid heartfelt tribute to the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, highlighting his exceptional political insight and leadership that secured a separate homeland for the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent under extremely challenging circumstances. He emphasized that Pakistan is the world’s first Islamic ideological state and called upon the nation to renew its commitment to upholding Quaid-e-Azam’s teachings and guidance for future generations.
In a message released by the Prime Minister’s Office Media Wing on Wednesday, marking the 77th death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam, the Prime Minister stated that the entire nation pays homage to Jinnah’s unparalleled political leadership and selfless national guidance. He described Quaid-e-Azam as one of history’s greatest leaders who, despite adverse conditions, used his political vision and leadership skills to achieve a separate homeland for the Muslims.
Shehbaz Sharif noted that Quaid-e-Azam sincerely struggled for the political and religious rights of Muslims, their economic and social development, and the protection of their culture through an independent state. He said that by the grace of Allah, Quaid-e-Azam’s leadership bore fruit, granting Muslims the blessing of an independent country in the form of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister underscored that Pakistan’s creation holds a unique place in history as the world’s first Islamic ideological state. Despite massive challenges at the time of partition—including the migration of millions, resource shortages, and administrative obstacles—Quaid-e-Azam laid the foundation for a strong Pakistan, instilling confidence and courage in the nation to move forward.
He added that Pakistan was founded on fundamental principles such as religious freedom, equal basic rights, democracy, justice, and equality for all religious minorities, which remain at the core of the country’s identity.
Shehbaz Sharif stressed that the secret to Pakistan’s progress, prosperity, and welfare lies in Quaid-e-Azam’s political legacy. He called for collective efforts to elevate Pakistan into the ranks of developed countries and to realize the vision of a true Islamic welfare state. Passing on Quaid-e-Azam’s teachings and guidance to coming generations is also a shared responsibility of the nation.
Concluding his message, the Prime Minister urged the nation to recommit itself to governing the state based on Quaid-e-Azam’s prudent political leadership, ideological principles, and the values of faith, unity, and strong conviction. He prayed that Allah Almighty elevate the status of the Father of the Nation and grant Pakistan the strength to follow the path laid down by Quaid-e-Azam.
