Military Leadership Pays Glowing Tribute to Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed on 60th Martyrdom Anniversary

The top military leadership of Pakistan paid heartfelt tribute to Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed, recipient of the country’s highest military honour, Nishan-e-Haider, on the occasion of his 60th martyrdom anniversary.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu offered prayers for the elevation of the martyr’s rank in the hereafter and honoured his unparalleled courage, leadership, and sacrifice.

Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed embraced martyrdom during the 1965 war while defending the Barki sector near Lahore, where he held his position for five consecutive days and nights in the face of relentless enemy attacks. His unwavering determination and leadership proved instrumental in halting the enemy’s advance and boosting the morale of his troops.

The ISPR stated that Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed’s legacy of bravery and sense of duty remains an enduring inspiration for generations to come. “His sacrifice is not merely a tale of military gallantry, but a timeless story of patriotism and resolve that continues to guide and inspire our nation.”

The Armed Forces of Pakistan reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to defend the motherland with the same passion and resolve exemplified by Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed.
