President Asif Ali Zardari has paid glowing tribute to the 12 soldiers of the security forces who were martyred in recent counter-terrorism operations in Bajaur and South Waziristan, vowing that the menace of Khawarij terrorists and their sponsors will be defeated.

In a statement issued by the Presidential Press Wing on Saturday, the President expressed profound grief and sorrow over the loss of brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

“The blood of our martyrs has further strengthened our resolve to eliminate terrorism,” President Zardari stated, honoring the courage and sacrifice of the fallen troops.

Strongly condemning the Indian-backed Khawarij elements, President Zardari expressed grave concern over the use of Afghan soil for terrorist activities against Pakistan. He called on the interim Afghan government to fulfill its responsibilities in curbing cross-border terrorism.

“Pakistan cannot be bowed down by violence,” the President said, reaffirming the nation’s determination to defeat terrorism in all its forms. “The Khawarij and their foreign sponsors will be defeated,” he added.
