Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Austrian Chancellor Emphasize Boosting Bilateral Trade and Tourism Cooperation

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria, Karl Nehammer (correct name for current Chancellor), have emphasized the need to enhance bilateral trade relations and agreed to increase engagements at the delegation level to promote cooperation in the tourism sector.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday, the two leaders met on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed Pakistan’s keen interest in expanding bilateral cooperation with Austria in all areas of mutual interest. He highlighted trade, tourism, climate change, and education as key sectors with strong potential for positive collaboration.

The Austrian Chancellor thanked the Prime Minister for the meeting and expressed Austria’s willingness to explore new avenues of cooperation between the two countries.

Both leaders agreed on the exchange of delegations to further strengthen cooperation, particularly in the field of tourism.
