Managing Director of Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation (PHAF), Muhammad Shahid Hussain, has officially initiated fast-track development and construction work on the PHAF Peshawar Residencia project, one of the largest housing schemes in Peshawar.
This landmark project is being implemented through a collaborative effort between the Government of Pakistan and the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the PHAF, the location of the project is free from flood risks, a concern that exists for many other housing schemes in the region.

Speaking to Capital News Point, Shahid Hussain stated that the PHAF is offering grey-structure housing units at the cost of a residential plot. The project includes plots of 1 kanal, 10 marla, 8 marla, and 5 marla sizes. A total of over 13,000 housing units are planned, comprising both grey-structure houses and apartments.
The layout plan of the project has been designed by NESPAK, and contractors have already commenced work on-site. The development is scheduled for completion within three years.
In addition to housing units, the project will include essential facilities such as schools, colleges, hospitals, and playgrounds, aiming to provide all basic amenities within the community. The land for the project was provided by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, while PHAF is overseeing its development.
A special quota has been reserved for federal government employees, while the general public is also eligible to apply. So far, over 800 applicants have registered for plots and apartments, and registration is ongoing.
Under the agreement between PHAF and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Housing Authority, foundational infrastructure work is progressing rapidly, including boundary walls, the main boulevard, and the central entrance gate. For added security, a permanent police station has also been established by the provincial government.
Located approximately 15 kilometers from the city center on Kohat Road, Peshawar Residencia spans 8,000 kanals and is being developed in four phases. Housing units have been categorized into Category I, II, III, and IV. In the first phase, 885 units are being constructed, with agreements for 400 units already finalized.
Heavy machinery has arrived on-site, and PHAF has urged all allottees and members to adhere to the three-year installment plan to ensure uninterrupted construction and timely completion of the project.
Muhammad Shahid Hussain emphasized the importance of timely payments by members, stating that the quicker the installments are received, the faster the construction can be completed.
