On the directions of the Secretary Housing, Capt. (Retd.) Noorul Amin Mengal, and under the supervision of the Director General, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Kinza Murtaza, the Enforcement Squad RDA continues its crackdown against illegal constructions and encroachments in Rawalpindi.
An anti-encroachment operation was conducted on Chakri Road, Rawalpindi. During the operation, RDA Enforcement Squad removed illegal vending stalls, temporary and permanent encroachments, and unauthorized structures that were obstructing public pathways and compromising safety. Unauthorized commercial activities without payment of commercialization charges were also targeted, and around 50 illegal commercial units were sealed.
The DG RDA, Kinza Murtaza, reaffirmed the Authority’s firm stance, we will not compromise when it comes to the safety and well-being of Rawalpindi’s residents. Compliance with anti-encroachment regulations and dengue SOPs is mandatory, and strict action will be taken against violators.
She further added that these actions are in line with the directions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who has mandated a zero-tolerance policy against encroachments and illegal developments.
The DG urged property owners, builders, and residents to follow legal guidelines, cooperate with RDA, and take necessary precautions to help prevent the spread of dengue. She also appealed to the public to play their role in keeping Rawalpindi’s streets safer, more accessible, and free from unnecessary congestion.
The enforcement operation was led by Shiza Tanweer, Assistant Director Building Control RDA, along with Building Surveyor Aamir Mahmood Malik and other enforcement staff with the support of Police from Police Station Dhamyal Rawalpindi.
