Special Judge Central Islamabad, Humayun Dilawar, has deferred the hearing on the post-arrest bail applications of five accused individuals in the APP mega corruption case until Wednesday.
During the proceedings on Tuesday, the court was informed that formal notices regarding the bail applications had not been issued. Khurram Baig, the legal advisor for the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), appeared before the court and stated that he had not received timely notice of the case, leaving him unprepared to respond.
Judge Humayun Dilawar questioned the court staff about whether APP had been officially notified. A court official informed the judge that a telephone call had been made the previous night to convey the information.
The judge expressed strong displeasure over the informal mode of communication and issued a show-cause notice to the concerned court staff member for negligence.
Following this, the court adjourned the hearing until Wednesday.
The accused—Muhammad Ghaus Khan, Idrees Ahmed, Sajid Ali Warraich, Khurram Shehzad, and Imran Munir—had filed post-arrest bail applications in connection with the APP mega corruption case.
