Uzbek and Kazakh Delegations Visit NDMA Headquarters, Emphasize Need for Global Disaster Cooperation

High-level delegations from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan visited the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Headquarters in Islamabad, where they toured the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) and received a detailed briefing on Pakistan’s disaster preparedness and response framework.

The Uzbek parliamentary delegation was led by the Speaker of the Uzbek Parliament, while the 20-member Kazakh delegation was headed by the Secretary of the Security Council of Kazakhstan. The Kazakh Ambassador to Pakistan also accompanied the delegation.

During the visit, NDMA officials provided a comprehensive briefing on Pakistan’s disaster management framework, including its advanced alert and early warning systems.

NDMA Chairman, Lt. Gen. Inam Haider Malik, warmly welcomed the delegations and gave an in-depth overview of the joint institutional efforts planned for Monsoon 2025, as well as the national and international disaster response landscape.

The NDMA team highlighted proactive measures, public awareness campaigns, and emergency response mechanisms currently in place to tackle natural disasters across the country.

Both delegations appreciated NDMA’s professional preparedness and advanced disaster management practices, describing Pakistan’s model as exemplary and worthy of replication in other nations.

The two sides agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation, share expertise, and work together to build capacity in disaster risk reduction. They also stressed the importance of developing a coordinated global strategy to address the growing threats posed by natural disasters.
