Pakistan Reviews Preparations to Host SCO Heads of State Summit in 2026-27

A high-level committee meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar was held to review preparations for hosting the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State Council summit scheduled to take place in Pakistan in 2026-27.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan must host the SCO summit in a dignified and exemplary manner, reflecting the country’s commitment to regional cooperation and diplomatic excellence.

The meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Acting Foreign Secretary, Secretaries of Cabinet Division, Interior, and Information, Chairman CDA, Islamabad IGP, and other senior officials.

Participants discussed logistical, security, and organizational aspects to ensure successful hosting of the high-profile summit.
