Federal Minister for National Health Services, Syed Mustafa Kamal, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to utilizing all available resources to curb the spread of dengue fever across the country. Chairing a high-level meeting on the current dengue situation, the minister emphasized the importance of both public awareness and practical measures.
He said that a comprehensive and coordinated strategy has been devised to prevent dengue outbreaks, with effective measures already underway. “Public-level actions and swift interventions are essential to eliminate the threat of dengue,” Kamal stated.
The minister directed that separate counters for fever patients be established in all hospitals to enable prompt diagnosis and treatment of suspected dengue cases. He also instructed that three teams be formed under the supervision of respective Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) to ensure better field coordination and effective anti-dengue operations.
“All relevant departments must work together to protect the citizens,” he added, highlighting the need for inter-agency collaboration.
The meeting was attended by MNAs Raja Khurram Shehzad Nawaz and Anjum Aqeel Khan, along with the Federal Secretary for Health, Director General of Health, District Health Officers, and heads of major hospitals.
