Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi met with Sui Northern Gas Project General Manager Engineer Syed Sajid Hussain Shah, who gave a detailed briefing on the ongoing gas pipeline project in Dera Ismail Khan (D.I. Khan).
According to a statement issued by the Governor House, the briefing highlighted that the laying of a 70-kilometer gas pipeline from Kot Pulak to Sagu and from Sagu to D.I. Khan is progressing rapidly and is targeted for completion by December this year.
The completion of this project is expected to significantly reduce gas load shedding and pressure issues in the region.
During the briefing, the Governor was also informed that preparations have been finalized for another project involving a 103-kilometer pipeline from Darazinda to Lakki Marwat. Work on this second phase will commence immediately after the current project is completed.
Governor Kundi directed the concerned authorities to accelerate the pace of work, emphasizing the need to provide early relief to the public. He reiterated that the government is committed to the timely completion of all public service projects.
Engineer Sajid Hussain Shah informed the Governor that labour camps have already been established at key points including Darazinda, Kot Pulak, and Sagu to maintain consistent progress and ensure that the project is completed within the stipulated time.
This development marks a significant step toward improving energy infrastructure in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, aiming to enhance the quality of life and economic activity in the region.
