A special meeting was held at the Gymkhana under the supervision of Director General, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Kinza Murtaza, to review and plan key developmental initiatives in Rawalpindi city. The meeting focused on infrastructure enhancement, environmental sustainability, and urban beautification.
During the session, DG RDA directed Secretary Gymkhana to establish a modern Library and Knowledge Centre within the Gymkhana premises to promote learning, research, and community engagement.
Key initiatives discussed included: Development of a Green Belt surrounding Gymkhana to enhance environmental quality. Installation of a water recycling system to promote sustainable water use within the facility. Beautification projects for major areas including Murree Road, Sherpao Colony, and Asghar Mall Road and removal of encroachments from public spaces to restore order and prevent potential damages in the future.

DG RDA Kinza Murtaza emphasized the importance of public cooperation and inter-departmental coordination to ensure the success of these initiatives. She further stated that these projects are aligned with RDA’s commitment to creating a cleaner, greener, and more organized Rawalpindi.
She said urban development must be people-centric, sustainable, and inclusive. These efforts will not only improve the city’s aesthetics but also enhance the quality of life for its residents.
The RDA will soon initiate groundwork on these projects, and periodic reviews will be conducted to ensure timely and effective implementation.
