Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) has become the most-viewed address by any world leader on the official UN YouTube channel. Uploaded on September 26, the video has garnered over 1.3 million views, surpassing speeches by other global leaders.

In second place is former U.S. President Donald Trump’s September 23 speech, which has received 458,000 views, followed by the Thai Foreign Minister Sahasak Phuangketkeow’s address on September 27, with 277,000 views.

In his comprehensive speech, PM Shehbaz Sharif addressed several pressing global issues, including the ongoing conflict in Gaza, the dispute over Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, climate change, and the global economic crisis. He described these challenges as part of a complex and increasingly volatile global landscape marked by rising conflicts, violations of international law, and environmental instability.

Condemning Israeli aggression in Gaza in the strongest terms, the Prime Minister called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, labeling the actions of Israel as a “systematic massacre of innocent people” and a “stain on the conscience of the world.”

PM Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of a sovereign Palestinian state.

Reiterating Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir issue, the Prime Minister stressed the need to grant the people of Jammu and Kashmir their right to self-determination in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions. He also accused India of illegal and unilateral actions that are escalating tensions in the region.

The viral reach of PM Shehbaz’s speech highlights Pakistan’s active diplomatic voice on global issues and its call for justice, peace, and multilateral cooperation at the international stage.
