A total of 28 new dengue cases were reported in the federal capital over the past 24 hours, according to a statement released by the district administration on Sunday. In response, authorities have intensified the ongoing anti-dengue campaign across Islamabad.

The district administration and field teams remain actively engaged in preventive measures to curb the spread of the dengue virus. Over the past day, 24,603 locations were inspected, with fogging carried out at 652 sites and insecticide spray conducted at 179 homes.

Of the newly confirmed cases, 15 were reported from rural areas, while 13 emerged from urban zones. For health safety, 16 patients have been shifted to hospitals for further treatment.

During the inspections, larvae were found at 430 locations, while 4 sites tested negative. The district administration has instructed teams to intensify spraying and fogging in high-risk areas.

Officials also confirmed that several premises were sealed and multiple arrests were made due to violations of standard operating procedures (SOPs). The administration reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining momentum in the anti-dengue drive, stating that no leniency will be shown.

Citizens have been urged to immediately report any signs of mosquito larvae to the district control room to assist in controlling the outbreak effectively.
