Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Sunday described recent developments along the Pak-Afghan border as alarming, condemning unprovoked firing and attacks by Afghan forces in border areas as serious provocations.
In a post on the social media platform “X,” Senator Ishaq Dar said Pakistan’s measured retaliatory strikes and operations were aimed at dismantling Taliban-linked structures and neutralizing terrorist elements — identified as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan — that operate from Afghan soil against Pakistan.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s defensive actions are not directed at peaceful Afghan civilian populations, and unlike the Taliban forces, Pakistani operations have exercised extreme caution to avoid civilian casualties. Ishaq Dar expressed the expectation that the Taliban government will take concrete steps against terrorist elements and their facilitators who seek to undermine Pak-Afghan relations.
Concluding his message, the minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, regional stability, and the safety of its people.
