Cement Retail Prices See Decline Across Pakistan in Last Week

According to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, retail prices of cement in the country recorded a decrease during the week ending October 9.

In northern cities, the average retail price per bag of cement was recorded at Rs. 1,372, reflecting a 0.64% drop compared to the previous week’s average price of Rs. 1,381. Meanwhile, in southern cities, the average retail price per bag dropped by 0.58% to Rs. 1,441 from Rs. 1,449 the previous week.

During the same week, average retail prices of cement per bag were recorded as follows in major northern cities: Islamabad Rs. 1,345, Rawalpindi Rs. 1,346, Gujranwala Rs. 1,400, Sialkot Rs. 1,370, Lahore Rs. 1,408, Faisalabad Rs. 1,380, Sargodha Rs. 1,360, Multan Rs. 1,416, Bahawalpur Rs. 1,420, Peshawar Rs. 1,350, and Bannu Rs. 1,300.

In the southern region, average prices per bag were noted as: Karachi Rs. 1,367, Hyderabad Rs. 1,427, Sukkur Rs. 1,500, Larkana Rs. 1,407, Quetta Rs. 1,500, and Khuzdar Rs. 1,443.

The slight reduction in cement prices provides some relief to the construction sector amid ongoing economic challenges.
