U.S. President Donald Trump has declared the beginning of a “new historic era” in the Middle East, saying that peace is now within reach and the guns are finally falling silent in Gaza.

Speaking at the Israeli Knesset (Parliament), Trump said, “Many believed we were wasting our time trying to pursue peace in Gaza — but now it’s clear: the focus must shift toward rebuilding.” He called the release of Israeli hostages a “historic moment” and praised the efforts of Arab and Muslim countries that pressured for their freedom.

“Israel has already won everything that could be won by force,” Trump stated. “Now is the time to turn the victories on the battlefield against terrorists into lasting prosperity for the Middle East.”

Trump specifically acknowledged the efforts of his aide, Steve Witkoff, for working tirelessly on the peace deal.

His remarks came shortly after Air Force One landed in Tel Aviv, where he was welcomed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Standing alongside Netanyahu at the parliament, Trump told reporters, “This is truly a remarkable day. I am confident Hamas will follow through with the disarmament plan.” Speaking on the hostages, he added, “We are very happy for them. They will be happy too, and they will go on to live wonderful lives.”
