Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated that the freedom, dignity, and prosperity of the Palestinian people remain a fundamental priority for Pakistan. He emphasized that the establishment of a strong and viable Palestinian state, based on the pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital, is and will remain the cornerstone of Pakistan’s Middle East policy.

In a post shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) before departing from Sharm El-Sheikh after attending the Gaza Peace Summit, the Prime Minister reflected on Pakistan’s deep and longstanding commitment to the Palestinian cause.

He stated that Pakistan’s foremost priority at the summit was to call for an immediate end to the campaign of genocide in Gaza. This position was consistently voiced and reinforced in collaboration with other brotherly nations.

Expressing gratitude, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also acknowledged the role of former U.S. President Donald Trump, thanking him for what he described as a commitment to halting the violence and fulfilling the promises made to bring peace to the region. The Prime Minister said, “We will continue to appreciate President Trump’s unique role for peace.”

He further added that Pakistan would continue to advocate for the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, stressing that this has been Pakistan’s consistent stance in all international forums.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif concluded by expressing hope and determination that, Insha’Allah, the dream of a free and prosperous Palestine would become a reality based on justice, international law, and the collective will of the global community.
