Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed Pakistan’s desire to strengthen cooperation with Australia, particularly in the fields of agriculture, livestock, and the export of high-quality meat. He made these remarks during a farewell meeting with outgoing Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office media wing, PM Shehbaz congratulated the High Commissioner on the successful completion of his tenure and appreciated his positive contributions towards enhancing Pakistan-Australia relations.
The Prime Minister underscored the importance of building robust ties with Australia, especially in agricultural and livestock sectors, and requested assistance in acquiring expertise from Australian specialists in these fields.
PM Shehbaz also expressed satisfaction over the progress made in economic reforms during the past 18 months, stating that these reforms would continue in the coming months to ensure long-term economic stability.
Highlighting the cordial and friendly relations between Pakistan and Australia, the Prime Minister also lauded Australia’s constructive role in promoting global peace, particularly in the Middle East.
High Commissioner Neil Hawkins thanked the Prime Minister for the warm hospitality and praised the generosity and cooperation extended by the people and government of Pakistan during his tenure. He congratulated PM Shehbaz Sharif on Pakistan’s rising diplomatic profile and ongoing efforts to promote peace in South Asia, the Middle East, and beyond. He also commended the Prime Minister’s leadership in bringing economic stability to the country.
