President Asif Ali Zardari met with Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday. According to a statement issued by the Presidency’s press wing, the Army Chief briefed the President on the overall internal and external security environment of the country.
During the meeting, Field Marshal Munir provided a detailed account of the recent security developments, including the provocative and aggressive actions by the Afghan Taliban regime along the border. He also informed the President about the timely and appropriate response delivered by Pakistan’s armed forces to counter these threats.
President Zardari expressed his complete confidence in the strength, bravery, capability, and preparedness of Pakistan’s armed forces. He praised their vigilance and professionalism in defending the nation’s borders and in swiftly repelling cross-border incursions along the Afghan frontier.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve, the President stated that the country will defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.
