Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to its alliance with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), stating that the PPP is a coalition partner whose relationship is viewed with respect and appreciation.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office Media Wing on Thursday, the Prime Minister made these remarks during a meeting with a high-level PPP delegation led by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
The delegation included senior PPP leaders and parliamentarians such as Raja Pervez Ashraf, Senator Sherry Rehman, Nayyar Bukhari, Nadeem Afzal Chan, and Syed Ali Qasim Gillani.
During the meeting, the PPP delegation praised Pakistan’s role in the recent Gaza peace initiative, acknowledging the Prime Minister’s diplomatic efforts.
Both sides discussed the overall political and national situation, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration among coalition partners.
Prominent figures from the federal government also participated in the meeting, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, National Food Security Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Public Affairs Rana Mubashir Iqbal, Political Advisor to the PM Rana Sanaullah, and Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Ahmed Khan.
The meeting highlighted ongoing cooperation between the PML-N-led federal government and the PPP, with both parties emphasizing a joint commitment to national stability, democratic progress, and effective governance.
