Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, met with the Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, Albert P. Khorev, to discuss a wide range of bilateral issues, including media cooperation, tourism promotion, and cultural exchanges.
During the meeting, both sides explored the natural beauty and tourism potential of Pakistan’s northern regions and emphasized the need to enhance people-to-people connections. Discussions also included finalizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and Russia’s Sputnik News Agency, along with advancing a cooperation agreement between Pakistan Television’s PTV World and Russian broadcaster RT (Russia Today).
The leaders also reviewed proposals for youth and digital influencer exchange programs under public diplomacy initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral engagement at the grassroots level.
Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar said that Pakistan and Russia enjoy diplomatic ties based on mutual trust and respect. Ambassador Khorev praised the tourism potential of Pakistan’s northern areas, stating that Russian tourists are increasingly interested in exploring the region. He emphasized that Pakistan-Russia relations are entering a new phase of practical cooperation across multiple sectors.
