A high-level delegation from Pakistan, led by Federal Secretary Interior & Narcotics Control Capt. (R) Muhammad Khurram Agha, accompanied by Director General FIA Mr. Riffat Mukhtar Raja and Managing Director OPF Mr. Afzaal Bhatti, visited the Headquarters of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) in Vienna today, 20 October 2025, on the invitation of ICMPD Director General Mr. Michael Spindelegger.

The delegation met with Mr. Spindelegger and received a detailed briefing from the Silk Routes Region team on ongoing projects in Pakistan in the areas of border management and migration governance.

It was highlighted that Pakistan is a key partner for ICMPD, and it greatly values Pakistan’s support in advancing safe, orderly, and regular migration. The delegation reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting safe migration and to introducing advanced measures in border control and migration governance.

The delegation will also participate in ICMPD’s flagship Vienna Migration Conference (21–22 October 2025) – Europe’s leading forum on migration, bringing together governments, international organisations, academia, and civil society to discuss migration trends, challenges, and opportunities.

This engagement marks another important step in strengthening Pakistan’s international partnerships on migration and border management.
