Mask Wearing Mandatory for Punjab Traffic Police and ‘Suthra Punjab’ Staff on CM’s Directives

RAWALPINDI (Staff Reporter)

In a proactive move to safeguard frontline workers from worsening smog, the Punjab government has made mask-wearing compulsory for all traffic police personnel and staff of the “Suthra Punjab” program.

The directive was issued on the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who took notice of the rising smog levels across the province.

The Chief Minister directed that all traffic police officials in Rawalpindi, as in other cities, who are constantly exposed to vehicle emissions while managing traffic, must wear masks to protect their health. She further instructed relevant senior officers to ensure the strict implementation of this government order.

Similarly, the use of masks has also been declared mandatory for all staff working under the “Suthra Punjab” program.

CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized that senior officers should personally monitor the situation to guarantee 100% compliance with the mask mandate across the entire province.

This measure is part of the Punjab government’s timely initiatives to protect the health of its frontline workers from the adverse effects of air pollution during the smog season, underscoring the administration’s commitment to public welfare.
