Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza met with Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Defence Minister Mohamed Ghassan Mamoon, and Chief of Defence Force Major General Ibrahim Helmy during his official visit to the Maldives.
According to a statement issued by ISPR on Friday, both sides discussed the global and regional security environment and explored matters of mutual interest, including bilateral defense and security cooperation.
The discussions also focused on ways to further enhance military relations between Pakistan and the Maldives, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to strengthen partnership.
The Maldivian civilian and military leadership praised the professional capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. Upon arrival at the MNDF headquarters, General Shamshad Mirza was welcomed with a ceremonial guard of honor.
