Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari Chairs Key Meeting on Lahore Journalists’ Housing Scheme

A significant meeting was held in Lahore under the chairmanship of Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari to discuss the Lahore Journalists’ Housing Society and issues concerning the journalist community. During the meeting, it was decided to auction the commercial area of the housing society.

According to sources, the LDA’s architectural team will visit the site to prepare development proposals, while the auction process will be conducted transparently by the LDA on behalf of PJHF. The meeting also included a detailed briefing on development matters related to the Lahore Press Club Housing Scheme by LDA, WASA, and PHA.

The session was attended by Secretary Information Tahir Raza Hamdani, DG LDA Tahir Farooq, MD WASA Ghufran Ali, President Lahore Press Club Arshad Ansari, Adnan Rasheed, and Asad Hussain.

Minister Azma Bukhari instructed that all development work should be completed within the stipulated time frame, ensuring transparency and quality. She emphasized that the Punjab government is committed to providing the journalist community with dignified, secure, and modern residential facilities.

She further stated that the LDA will prepare a transparent policy to ensure better and fair utilization of resources. Additionally, construction of new bridges on the canal will commence soon, and WASA will activate all incomplete water link systems. Minister Bukhari reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing modern and high-standard housing facilities to journalists as a priority.
