Senator Rubina Khalid Highlights Skill Development and Transparency During Visits to Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum and STEDA in Karachi

Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), participated in the 100th meeting of the Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum Management Board in Karachi on Friday. The meeting was chaired by Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan, where several key decisions regarding the administration of the mausoleum were made. Senator Khalid emphasized joint efforts for the preservation of national heritage and the sanctity of the Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum.

Following the meeting, the Chairperson visited the Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEDA). The visit, hosted by STEDA Chairman Junaid Buland, focused on collaboration between BISP and STEDA for skill development programs. Senator Khalid praised STEDA’s efforts, stating that empowering youth with skills is essential for economic self-reliance, and highlighted BISP’s goal of preparing beneficiaries to become skilled and employable. Chairman Buland assured full cooperation in providing training and employment opportunities for BISP beneficiaries.

Senator Khalid also toured the BISP Regional Office in Karachi, commending the staff’s dedication and service to underprivileged women, describing their work as both a national service and an act of worship. She reaffirmed BISP’s commitment to supporting its staff while upholding transparency and accountability, assuring that any irregularities will be investigated on merit and addressed according to the law.
